Arrival in Oz

We arrived safe and sound in Bundaberg this morning. Earlier than we thought as the wind came up - wind that we could have done with a couple of days ago! Customs, Immigration and Quarantine officials came on board, and gave us the most thorough check that we've ever had - looking into every cupboard and locker with a torch. All very friendly though, and we were able to keep more food than we had thought. Apart from fruit and veg which have to go, dairy products and cooked meats are OK as long as they are of Australian, NZ or EU origin. Some of our stronger pain killers were listed, and if we use them while here we have to tell them. Also they took a mace spray which has been on board since we bought the boat and no one has ever asked about it or noticed it before.

This marina is quite a way from the town, so tomorrow we are getting a bus in. Can't wait to stock up with crispy salad and some fruit.

In the meantime we are going to have an early night and hopefully our 8hrs uninterrupted sleep.
