At the time we were nearing Wreck Reef, and decided that we'd steer well clear of that one! A lot more motoring last night, but today mainly sailing with plenty of sail trimming and putting up and down of the stay sail. We are on course time-wise, keeping up the 5 knot average. As we cover the miles westwards we notice the time change - it's not dark until 7pm instead of 6 now, and we'll be 10 hours ahead of GMT when we arrive instead of 11.

day 2 position report
Started off the day with the news of a bad earthquake followed by a tsunami in Samoa with tsunami warnings for Vanuatu and New Caledonia. Best place to be is out in deep water, and in fact the damage was fairly local if nasty.
