What trade winds? - no wind. Again drifting along with the current and having to motor for 1.5 hrs to charge batteries - horrors. Position 7 deg 37min S, 107deg 39W. But it is sunny and the seas are calm. And luckily for the Captain's peace of mind the other boats in the group are in the same position. Some motor along, but really not much point for such a long journey.
On Geoff's watch last night he had about 20 dolphins around the boat for an hour and a half with lots of phosphorescence - couldn't ask for better entertainment in the wee small hours. And yesterday a Japanese tuna-fishing boat called us up for a chat in fairly basic English - were we OK, and did we need any food as they had lots on board? Evidently the Japanese boats are much more friendly than the Taiwanese who tend to come close to have a look, but won't answer radio calls.
Time to make (yet more) banana bread before we chuck the blackening stem overboard.
