Position today at 16.00 GMT is 08 44 S and 119 34 W We have just been having our usual morning chat to 'our' group of boats on the radio, and are the only ones with ENE winds, everyone else is SE. Anyway we have the ballooner and genoa winged out which looks good on a sunny morning, and are doing 5 - 6 knots.
The first boat in the group, a large catamaran, arrived in Fatu Hiva yesterday after 21 days at sea. We'll be longer than that, but the end is beginning to be in sight. We plot the positions of other boats - and of course try to narrow the gap between us. The last few days have been Catch 'Kelsea' days, and today at last we have gained on him - 43 to 23 miles! But it's been hard work with lots of sail changes.
Full moon, no fish on the line. Bully beef last night. Still the salted fish is drying well.
